We were invited to a wedding last weekend that was black tie! Kevin bought a tuxedo a few years ago because of all the things we had to go to that required them. I, however, had nothing that would work! Everything I own that is dressy is more for winter or is maternity! Fortunately I found a dress, two actually. Unfortunately, no one in my family could agree on which one they liked. Fortunately, I took them back and found another. Unfortunately, the zipper on the new one decided to break as I was trying it on for Kevin Saturday morning before the wedding. Fortunately my almost 90 year old great aunt who is visiting and grandmother are talented seamstresses and bought a new zipper to replace what my grandmother referred to as an "inferior zipper!" I didn't even get to try on the dress till it was time to go to the wedding, but I think it turned out okay! The wedding was probably the fanciest and most interesting wedding I will ever see. The bridal procession was to bongo drums, the bridesmaids wore turquoise, Duke Ellington's Heaven was sung during the ceremony, the reception venue included daybeds for couches, and there were more hydrangeas than I have ever seen in one place!
